2. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

Laukaa Nordic Oy processes business-to-business (B2B) contact data strictly for legitimate industrial commercial operations:

• Pre-Contractual & Contractual Fulfillment (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)): Processing Request for Quotation (RFQ) submissions, Bill of Materials (BOM) cross-referencing, order fulfillment, technical support, and corporate e-invoicing.
• Statutory Obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)): Complying with statutory bookkeeping, tax, and audit obligations under the Finnish Accounting Act (Kirjanpitolaki 1336/1997) and Finnish Value Added Tax Act (Arvonlisäverolaki).
• Legitimate B2B Interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): Managing corporate customer accounts, supplier relationships, and direct B2B engineering communications with industrial machine builders and OEMs.

3. Categories of Data Collected

When you submit an RFQ or contact our technical sales team, we collect only the corporate and professional details necessary to prepare a commercial quotation:

• Company name, Business ID (Y-tunnus / VAT number), and delivery/invoicing addresses (including Finnish OVT e-invoicing identifiers).
• Contact person's name, job title/role, corporate email address, and business telephone number.
• Project specifications, requested part numbers (SKUs/MPNs), quantities, CAD schematics, and commercial quotation correspondence.

4. Cookies and Browser Storage

In accordance with the Finnish Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014, Section 205), our website minimizes browser storage:

• Strictly Necessary Storage: We use local browser storage solely to retain your selected RFQ quotation basket items while you browse the catalog and to remember your language and cookie preferences.
• No Third-Party Ad Tracking: Laukaa Nordic Oy does not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third-party advertising networks or data brokers. You may review or update your consent choice at any time via the Cookie Preferences link in the page footer.

5. Data Storage, Security & Retention Period

All customer and quotation records are stored in access-controlled systems located within the European Union / European Economic Area (EU/EEA) protected by encrypted connections and strict authentication controls.

RFQ and customer contact data are retained for the duration of the active B2B customer relationship. Official commercial quotations, purchase orders, and accounting vouchers are archived for at least six (6) years from the end of the financial year as mandated by the Finnish Accounting Act.

6. Your Rights Under the EU GDPR

Under Articles 15–21 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification of inaccurate details, erasure of data (where not superseded by statutory Finnish accounting retention), restriction of processing, or objection to direct B2B communication.
